Sometimes we can feel that we have waited long enough to hear back about a job and would like to send a follow-up email. This can be a gamble though.

By sending a second email, you are showing that you are keen to get the job and you really want to know. However, it may be looked at as a sign of impatience or even rudeness.

If you have had no response from your first email, then you could put that you wanted to check if your first email had been received and even lie slightly in saying some emails you have sent have not reached their intended destination so that it does not look like you are just being impatient.

It will be necessary to leave the right amount of time before chasing up though. This can be hard to judge, but I would leave between one and three weeks. What would other people advice?

I am thinking of sending another email as they haven't get back to me for weeks now!

I would consider phoning the reception and asking whether they were aware of any delays or how long this process normally takes. You could even speak to the relevant department but not give your name so that you can find out what you wish to know without having to give away who you are. This means that they will not judge you on it. Has anyone else had success with doing this?

If you haven't heard anything from them yet then yes you should try reaching out to them again.
